Dear Friends,
We've completed preliminary upgrade on Barracuda server. cPanel/WHM and Apache server have been successfully upgraded. Next week, between August 17th and August 18th, 2019 we're going to remove depreciated versions of PHP: 5.3, 5.4 and 5.5. cPanel doesn't supply security updates to versions below PHP 5.6. It's important to remove them to avoid any abuse issues in the future.
Please login to cPanel then navigate "MultiPHP Manager". There you can check PHP version in use and then upgrade if needed. We strongly recommend PHP 7.2, however, OLD scripts (installed prior 2017) may not work with it. Please contact your script vendor prior switching to 7.2. You may need to run an upgrade either via web interface or FTP.
If you see "500 error" on other PHP errors right after upgrade to 7.2, you may reverse PHP version back by visiting cPanel > MultiPHP Manager > select domain on the left then on the right, from drop-down menu, select PHP 5.6 then click "APPLY" button.
Once we complete PHP maintenance, we'll upgrade MariaDB server (MySQL). We do not expect any downtime during upgrades.
Final step would be hardware upgrade. We'll upgrade CPU and also add more memory (128 GB). Downtime would be around 4 hours and will be scheduled at least 2 weeks ahead of time.
If you need any assistance with PHP selection, please drop a ticket to our 24/7/365 Help Desk.
