01/31/2020: all websites have been moved to new Dell server. New server ID: mouse.
Known issues after transfer:
1. There is no incoming/outgoing email. If you used our server for SMTP/POP3 or IMAP, make sure that you replace "jaguar" with "mouse" (one word, please keep "westnic.net"). Port numbers, DNS, usernames and passwords did not change.
2. Website shows 500 error (or "internal server error"). Please login to cPanel > MultiPHP then select version "5.6" then apply it to your website. Please note that current PHP version is 7.2. If you continue to use 5.6, your website will be at great risk. Please upgrade your PHP scripts as soon as you can. Please backup all data prior upgrade.
3. Website not found. If you use external DNS, please contact us for new hosting IP: https://helpdesk.westnic.net/hc/en-us/requests/new
Old "jaguar" cPanel backups generated on 01/29/2020 will be available until January 31st, 2021. You can restore any website free of charge (using old backups).
It's time to upgrade our old "Jaguar" server! It's has been online for more than 5 years and became obsolete (hardware and software). We're planning to move all websites from JAGUAR server to new one with much faster Intel CPU (2019), x2 memory and, most importantly, SSD for fast and safe data access/storage.
This task has been scheduled for January, there is no specific date set yet but all transfers should be completed by January 30th, 2019.
DNS: will remain the same
IP: host IP will change. Please contact us for new IP as soon as we initiate transfer (we'll update this article).
Server ID (name of your server): will change. We'll post new cPanel/WHM links here.
PHP: old PHP 4 will be removed completely. Please consider script upgrades (new PHP version is 7.2). PHP 5.6 will be available on new server for short period of time. You can use it at own risk.
DOWNTIME: none. We'll copy all websites in live mode.
It's good time to generate own backups! Please generate backups via cPanel > Backup > Generate full cPanel backup then download it to local computer or upload to cloud storage. We cannot guarantee availability of backups.
