Update 11/06/2020 3:00 EST: issue has been resolved by downgrading MariaDB. We've also locked all servers to prevent future cPanel updates for 2 weeks. We'll monitor active cPanel case and MariaDB vendors for future releases/hotfixes. Thank you for your patience while we looked into this!
Dear Friends,
We've recently discovered that cPanel update caused major issues with MariaDB (MySQL) data bases. Most websites are not affected (MySQL is still running), however, cPanel won't show data base info and may display the following:
The MySQL server is currently offline. adminbin cPanel/cpmysql/DBCACHE: exit 11
Also, some websites may produce "cannot connect to data base" error.
cPanel has posted following article: https://support.cpanel.net/hc/en-us/articles/360056772334-Updating-MariaDB-to-v10-2-35-or-v10-3-26-causes-MySQL-Databases-interface-to-show-MySQL-as-offline-
There is no clear solution to this bug yet but cPanel will release a quick fix/patch soon. Right now we're locking unaffected servers to prevent MariaDB updates.
Servers that has been affected:
ALPHA
BEAR
BERG
D6
ELE3
EU2
PUMA
ZOSS
We'll update this ticket once cPanel release MariaDB patch.
Thank you for your patience!
